Best Amish Chicken Recipes
In this post, I have compiled a list of twelve of my favorite Amish chicken recipes. These are popular Amish recipes made with chicken that the whole family will enjoy.
Chicken is the ultimate dinnertime staple and possibly the most popular meat in the world. Not only is it easy to cook and affordable, but there are so many ways to prepare it.
And obviously, there are a lot more recipes for Amish chicken (that Amish women use and make for their families) than what I am sharing here. I'll probably add more recipes in the future, but today we're starting with twelve.
Rice Krispie Chicken
Rice Krispie chicken is an absolute favorite and often requested dish in our home.
In this recipe, we dip chicken cutlets or tenderloins in batter and crushed Rice Krispies, and bake them till they are tender and moist on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Chicken with Stuffing (Lancaster Amish Wedding Chicken)
The Amish in Lancaster County have a traditional wedding meal. This Amish chicken and stuffing (chicken/turkey roast, better known as "Roasht") is served at every wedding.
And not only is it served at weddings, but it's also a popular holiday dish.
"Roasht" is typically made with turkey, although it can easily be made with chicken pieces when you're cooking for only a few people.
My mom used to make a giant bowl of stuffing, then she stuffed the turkey with some of it and baked it at a low temperature overnight. The next day she picked the meat off of the bones, cut it up, and mixed it with all the stuffing.
So with one turkey, she made a huge roaster full of "Roasht" to serve a large gathering of people. However, this recipe uses a whole chicken and is cut down to family size.

These Amish chicken croquettes are made with cooked and chopped chicken that is mixed with a thick creamy sauce, shaped into balls, then dipped in eggs and coated in bread crumbs.
And to finish them off (the best part of all), they are deep-fat fried. However, if you're looking for a healthier option, they can be pan-fried or air-fried as well.
It's a great way to use up leftover chicken or turkey from Thanksgiving.
