'I’m a Swiftie with Taylor Swift tattoos and here's why I'm seeing her twice' (2024)

As a dedicated Swiftie, I am so excited to see Taylor Swift perform live twice this summer, and I also got some cute Taylor-related tattoos to commemorate the moment

I've been a Taylor Swift fan since Love Story hit the radio waves in 2008, but despite being a fan for more than 13 years, I've never actually seen her live in concert.

When I was younger, I couldn't afford tour tickets, and then when I could and bagged tickets for British Summer Time in Hyde Park amid her Lover Fest shows for 2020, the Covid pandemic prevented me from seeing her. But finally, at 26 years of age, I'm going to see my idol perform in concert - and I cannot wait.

Attending one show in June, and another in August, I'll be witnessing more than six hours of Taylor in action as she performs some of the best tracks from her discography. But the song I'm most excited to hear live? All Too Well 10-Minute Version, of course.

After all, I have lyrics from this track tattooed onto my arm, further cementing my status as a Swiftie.

In 2021, Taylor re-released her 2012 album, Red. Within the confines of the 'vault' tracks, Taylor shared her 10-minute version of fan-favourite track, All Too Well, with the masses.

The OG All Too Well song was at track five on the OG Red album. The song was speculated to be about Jake Gyllenhaal, referencing the romance they shared when they briefly dated in 2010 after being introduced to each other by Gwyneth Paltrow.

But when Taylor released the 10-minute version, the addition of a lengthier third verse and some extra choruses and bridges breathed new life into the song that had been my favourite song since I was 15. "And you were tossing me the car keys, 'F--k the patriarchy' / Keychain on the ground, we were always skippin' town," Taylor croons.

And thankfully, Taylor sings the 10-minute version at The Eras Tour.

Ahead of her summer shows in London, I decided to get inked to mark the occasion. Heading to my favourite tattoo parlour in London, Fulham Tattoo (who have inked the likes of Ed Sheeran, I might add), I decided to get lyrics from ATW10 on my arm in a key chain design, along with Taylor's handwriting behind my ear.

Referencing the lyric "---- the patriarchy" from ATW10, I got a keychain with the lyrics inside it, complete with a 13 on my arm, and then Taylor's autographed heart from my signed Midnights album CD.

Some people probably think it's weird or they may even think I'm "abnormally obsessed" with Taylor Swift. But at the end of the day, we all get one life and if you don't embrace the things that make you your happiest, sunshine-iest self... then you're really doing yourself and your happiness a huge injustice.

So yeah, you'll catch me dancing, singing, and screaming this summer in London - on not one, but two occasions, with my tattoos on display, my wrists covered in friendship bracelets and my heart full of joy.

Taylor is currently in the UK for her Eras Tour. Across June and August, Taylor will perform two rounds of shows beginning on June 7. Across three nights in Scotland (June 7, 8, 9), Taylor will take to the stage at the BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Then, travelling down the country a little, Taylor will take to the stage in Liverpool to perform at the Anfield Stadium for three nights (June 13, 14, 15). Moving onto Wales a couple of nights later, Taylor will then perform one show on June 18 at the Principality Stadium.

Mere days later, Taylor will then perform another trio of shows at London's Wembley Arena (June 21, 22, 23), before heading further afield throughout Europe. But Taylor won't stay away from UK soil for too long, with her due back in the capital for a further five sold-out shows (August 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20).

For one night only this June, OXBO Bankside are inviting Swifties to experience a one-off Taylor Swift Drag Brunch, hosted by drag queen, TikTok superstar and die-hard Swiftie, Sophia Stardust, who will be shaking it off in her best-Taylor-Style. The local neighbourhood eatery situation in the award winning Hilton London Bankside are offering Swifties the next best thing to seeing Taylor at her sold-out Wembley show.
